One Step to Change your Life

Little known fact about me: I have a ridiculous intolerance for ingratitude.  I am so sick and tired of people not being grateful in their lives, with their family, with their friends, to strangers on the street.

Maybe, I am talking about you. Not to get preachy, but do you always say thank you when someone opens a door, takes you to dinner, gives you a present, helps you?  I am no math wiz, but I would say about 60% of people I come into contact with do not say Thank You. I’m serious.

You open a door.  They walk through…nothing. You take someone to dinner or bring over dinner… nothing. You give someone a gift…nothing.

Come on, people. A little gratitude goes a long way. And, now we are going to get down to what this post is really about. Gratitude can change your life.

LET ME REPEAT THAT, GRATITUDE CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

First, guess what?  SAYING thank you makes people want to do more and give more to you.  That’s pretty good right.

Second, showing appreciation makes the giver feel good about themselves.  Awesome. You made someone’s day!!

Third, the what’s in it for me.

You will feel better about yourself and your life.  This is one of the first steps to achieving your goals.  Take just a minute and list the things you are thankful for.  Better on paper, but you can do in your head.  Start with the big stuff, i.e. shelter, food. Then, get into the things you don’t always think about. A special person who supports you, someone who makes you laugh until your belly hurts, a person who believes in you,  a book or blog that made you feel like powerful, the sunshine warming your face, music that puts a smile on your face.

Now tell at least one of the people in our list A BIG HUGE THANK YOU. I bet you will feel AMAZING afterward and so will they!

If you stop, really stop and appreciate what you already have, the universe will give you more.

Gratefulness is the foundation to build your dream life on.  I promise you, if you get grateful for even a day, a week, a month, your life will be better.  You will be better. So, go on, get grateful.

Let me know how it goes. Tell me one thing you are deeply grateful for.
