Motivation Monday!!!!

Welcome to MOTIVATION MONDAY!!!

In my head, I imagine all of you seeing flashing lights, dancing to your favorite music, confetti popping, big, bright, happy smiles on your face!!! Woo hoo!! It’s Monday, y’all!!  Let’s rule this week!

Chris Assaad, an inspiring musician (chrisassaad.com) said this:

“Close your eyes and imagine the best version of you possible.  That’s who you really are, let go of any part of you that doesn’t believe it.”

I am a huge fan of the theory, “you have to believe it to achieve it.”  Actions stems from belief.

I hate to break it to all the people who don’t like the touchy feely stuff or think this is some kind of weird sorcery: If you don’t think you can lose weight, you won’t.  If you don’t believe you can be a boss, you won’t. If you don’t think you can be rich, it’s not going to happen to you.  If you think you can’t be happy, joyful, magnificent, welcome to a long stretch of sadness.   In short, if you don’t believe you can change your circumstances, then, accept where you are right now. This will forever be your life.

A quick lesson about your brain if your interested or skip to the bolded words. 😉

Our conscious mind is the part of our mind that is self-aware. It is logical and analytical and houses our short-term memory. Essentially, our conscious directs us and is the decision maker. However, it is limited because it is a creature of habit. This creates difficulty when a person wants to change a habit or behavior.

The subconscious mind is the largest part of our mind. It is a super computer. It does not analyze or judge anything. It simply reacts to the decisions of the conscious mind. It controls our movement, bodily functions, and keeps us moving towards whatever we think about most. The conscious can be thought of as the driver of a race car. Like the driver, the conscious is in control and constantly making decisions. The subconscious can be compared to the racecar. It responds to the decisions of the driver and is the one actually doing the work.

So, you NEED your whole brain to get on board.  You need to make the CHOICE to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.  Then, your conscious brain can act accordingly directing you towards your beliefs.

STEPS to BELIEF

  • STOP NEGATIVE SELF-TALK: When you hear fear whispering, you can’t do this. Forcefully, say “STOP!!” in your mind or out loud. (Yeah, people, may think you’re a crazy person, but at least you’ll be moving forward.)You don’t got time to fuel that fire. No way!

In the same vein, refuse to listen to negative talk from others. You are not them.  They are not you. PERIOD. END OF STORY. I love the quote that says, “Whatever people think of you is none of your business.”  #truestory

  • Replace Negative Talk with Self-Love: Whether, you choose to call it affirmations, positive thinking, or self-love, this will build your confidence and your Belief. What could you do if you believed?  Some of my favorite reminders to self are:
  • God wouldn’t have put this dream in my heart if I couldn’t achieve it. So, let’s go!
  • I can and I will.
  • I am better than this.
  • Fear is only in my head. I can do anything I set my mind to.
  • I deserve to be happy, to be fulfilled, to be wealthy, to (fill in the blank.)

Take a minute and seriously, do this. “Close your eyes and imagine the best version of you possible.  That’s who you really are, let go of any part of you that doesn’t believe it.”

You got this!! Leave a comment and let me know what you will tell yourself when negativity strikes.

Aim high,
