How to look in the mirror and like what you see.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall who is the fairest of them all? Not you. You are fat, not very smart, and you speak kind of weird. Wow, ummmmm…. that’s a confidence killer.

I have been thinking about the brain and how we overcome.  I think God gave us an extraordinary super power that begins in our head. Our brain is such an amazing tool.

And, within your brain, you have a choice.  The choice is how are you going to see your life? How are you going to see the world?  Are you lucky? Is the world a scary place or is it a good place where scary things sometimes happen?  Are people kind or does everyone have a hidden agenda?  Should you trust people or maybe more importantly, can you trust yourself?

I love this poem by ― Walter D. Wintle

“If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don’t,
If you like to win, but you think you can’t
It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You’ve got to think high to rise,
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!”

Mindset and the Creator are really all you have in this life.  Everything else can be taken away.  So use this glorious gift!!

Here what I know. YOU CANNOT HIDE YOUR MINDSET FROM THE WORLD.

Ever meet someone and immediately know that they are just happy with their life. They may have somethings they want to change or goals they haven’t met yet, but they are happy.  In the same vein, ever met that person who is constantly complaining, they certainly don’t know clouds have silver linings and they seem generally angry with life. I guarantee you that each of these people had a different belief about themselves and about the world.  Why is one so happy and the other so angry?

Your mindset/belief system will always affect your behavior.   At the core of who you are is a set of beliefs. Some of those beliefs are based on experience, some based on culture, and some are inherited.  Some of those beliefs are helpful and some are not.

The person who thinks they are underqualified, not smart enough, unable to handle pressure will not be the person who gets the corner office.  And, that is not because any of that is true. Simply, what they believe causes them not to seek advancement, not to apply for better jobs, and not to live in confidence. In turn, other people see that person as under-qualified, stupid, and fragile.  The world is a mirror to your beliefs.

MY POINT IS: YOU HAVE CONSTRUCTED THIS PERSON AND THE MOMENT YOU DECIDE NOT TO BE THIS PERSON ANYMORE, YOU WON’T BE.

It sounds too easy right?  It really is as simple and complicated as that.  See, the person who believes they are smart will educate themselves. The person who thinks they can do it, will step out in faith and try.  The person who knows they can be successful will keep working until they are.

So, take a good look into the mirror. Reintroduce yourself to the person you see there.  The person you are today does not have to be the person you are tomorrow.  You are the only person that can save yourself.  Go live the life that you actually want.  Be the type of person you admire.

Keep the “people should just accept me as I am” to yourself.  We are all worthy.  We all deserve good things, but with that said, you can’t take money out of the bank if you never make any deposits.  So,  be the kind of person who gives. Be the kind of person who likes other people.  Be the kind of person that puts caring into action.  Believe you are worth it and the world will believe with you.

TIP: Make a list. Ask yourself, who do I have to be to get what I want?

Mirror, Mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all? “Why you my dear! You are smart. you are worthy. You light the world. You are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Yes!!!!

Then, be that person. Now, I am not asking you to be fake. (Although, in the beginning it may feel weird and fake, you will get used to it if you choose to.)  I am asking you to transform into someone you actually like.  This is the absolute first step to be successful. You must believe in yourself. Be the kind of person you would believe in.
