Adult Coloring Books

Man are there ever a lot of adult coloring books out there right now.  And, we’re all into this as the adult side of us is like ahhh, I am meditating through coloring, ahhh, I am going to color myself calm. Ahhh….breathe.  This is so good for me.

But, you know there is this little kid in us running around screaming “Woo Hoo!!!”  And, it made me think, I don’t want to color myself calm. I want to color myself excited. I want to color myself inspired. I want to color myself jumping for freaking joy!!! Am I alone in this?

Thoreau said, “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them.”

I don’t want that.  And, frankly, I don’t think God wants that for me or anyone else. Here we are in this huge beautiful world and we are trying to color ourselves calm.  Color yourfreakingself helping others. Color yourself being courageous. Color yourself being consistent. Color yourself using your gifts. Color yourself being the best you, you can be.  But, please, don’t color yourself hiding from your problems, hiding from your gift, hiding from yourself.

You don’t have to lead a life of quiet desperation. It’s a choice.  Yeah, I know maybe somebody hurt you that you trusted, somebody told you or implied you couldn’t do something, somebody told you there is only one way to live your life. That is wrong, wrong, wrong. You have a choice.  Take your power back, take your life back. Color your own story.

Go forth, Friend.
